clafoutis aux pommes



I don't know what kind of crazy nuclear powered oven Michael Chiarello has but my clafoutis took 40 minutes*.  Maybe because my oven is from the sixties or from my need to poke (oven door open .. close) and prod (open, close) and jooge (openclose) and peek and poke again (opencloseopenclose).  Resulting in a pockmarked clafoutis**.
Isn't she pretty?
And a mound of super fantastic magical cheddar cheese and scallion biscuits.

Off to Kentucky! Land of BOURBON AND FRIED CHICKEN!

*I was guilty of taking it out, realizing it was still raw, nuking it again... still... raw...nuke again...  so the timing is a little ambiguous.
**my prodding instrument was a chopstick.  Really, who has toothpicks?
