One of the most celebrated painters currently working in the United States, Kerry James Marshall (b. 1955) has exhibited widely in both this country and around the world. His work explores the experiences of African Americans and the narratives of American history that have often excluded black people. Drawing upon the artist’s prodigious knowledge of art history and the African diaspora, his paintings combine figurative and abstract styles and multiple allusions, drawing from “high” and “low” sources... In his art, the past is never truly past: history exerts a constant, often unconscious pressure on the living.

The life-span of every living creature is limited.The infusion bags stand for the progress in medicine and the  prolongation of human life.They somehow carry an ambivalent message as they refer to both death and life an the  same time. Both states are immanent here. To preserve the beauty of the flowers artifically with the help of the infusion bags points out man's inclination to repress the fact having to die and to postpone death"

No two voices are alike. No event is ever the same. Each intersection in this project is both made and found. All making is an act of attention and attention is an act of recognition and recognition is the something happening that is thought itself. As a bird whose outstretched wings momentarily catch the light and change thought’s course, we attend the presence of the tactile and perhaps most importantly—we attend to each other. If on a swing, we are alone, we are together in a field. This condition of the social is the event of a thread. Our crossings with its motions, sounds, and textures is its weaving; is a social act.
